HOLT MORRIS MADNESS!

[09/05/2008] That's the Badger!! "The Rampant Badger"

My Dad, "The Squire" and his team, Holt Morris came all the way up from Holt in Wiltshire, the lovely village in which I grew up, to entertain all at The Crown Inn last friday. It was a great evenings entertainment with many of our locals even joining in. My brother and I used to participate as a young lads, but we never thought we would ever have to perform again. We were wrong!! I must say I did end up enjoying it! Thank you very much to Holt morris for making it up and making it such a fantastic night, I hope that they will be back sooner rather than later!

New Years Eve Medieval Banquet

[31/12/2007] Medieval Festivities!!

We held our first New Years Eve bash, since taking over in October. It took the form of a Medieval Banquet and a success it was!! 40-50 Guests came dressed to impress and enjoyed a great evening which consisted of all sorts of medieval tomfoolery.

Squire Danny & his fair lady Jane, pictured right, won the fancy dress competition and were crowned King & Queen for the night. They headed up the banqueting table and were treated like royalty all evening.

The Center piece of the banquet was the pig roast which entered the hall to the rhythm of banging knives and forks and the chanting of "Hog Hog Hog!!!"

All in all it was a very enjoyable evening, topped off with a firework display on the stroke of midnight and dancing till the early hours. Thank you to everyone for getting in the spirit of things and enjoying themselves so much, we hope to see you in 2008!
