Super 8's Victory for The Crown CC

August bank holiday weekend 2011 saw The Crown CC triumph in the big tournament of the year "The Miserden International Super 8's."

After last years poor performance The Crown CC were not expected to be a threat. With a true underdog spirit they battled hard to beat a strong Kings Head team in their first group match, a game nobody thought they could win. This victory set them up to compete with the best sides the 8's had to offer. After seeing The Black Horse, Cranham off in the semi-finals, they went on to snatch a tournament victory over The Prince Albert and became champions for the first time in the pubs history.

The Super 8's trophy is now proudly displayed behind the bar at The Crown Inn. Congratulations to all the lads, we'll see you at this years presentation night on the 1st October 2011.

On 4th July 2011 the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards were held at the Centaur, Cheltenham Race Course. The Crown Inn proudly attended as one of three finalists in the "Best Pub Restaurant" category. Unfortunately we just missed out on the award but do now come highly recommended by the cotswold life magazine. Gemma & I would like to thank all of our customers who put us forward in the voting procedure and for making the Crown such a wonderful & friendly place to enjoy. The Stroud Arm of the CAMRA organistion (Campaign for Real Ale) have put forward 3 new entries into the Good Beer Guide from the GL5, GL6 & GL10 areas. The Crown Inn made the cut and features in the guide which is now on sale for £15.99.

The Cotswold & Forest of Dean Tourism Board announced their first ever Cotswold Tourism Awards this year. Awards have been agreed upon by a group of independent judges and The Crown Inn has been awarded a Silver Award for "Pub of the Year 2010" find out the other winners & categories by clicking the Silver Sheep!

As the snow fell and customers battled to get here, we found a bit of spare time to have some fun!?

Thank you everyone for coming to our Wild West Party. The Bucking Bronco, Saloon Bar Shootout and Campfire Grub went down very well. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Here are a few picture from the night. We wish everyone a fantastic New Year and hope we will see you in the pub!

Thank you to everyone who came down to watch the show this year, it definitely makes all the effort worth while to see so many people enjoying themselves! hope you all enjoyed watching the house of parliament burn to the ground and every bang and flash of the firework display, hope to see you all again next year!! Wild Hogs Descend on The Crown!!

On the Weekend of 12th, 13th & 14th June 2009 The 1066 Chapter of the Harley Davidson Owners Group made The Crown Inn their base as they cruised round the cotswold's! We thoroughly enjoyed hosting them and would love to see them back in the future. I hope you all had a good time. To see photos of their trip click the link below...

Once again Morrismen have descended on the Crown, First were the Holt Morrismen on 15th May, and secondly The Gloucester Morrismen & Stroud Ladies visited on 19th May. Both evenings managed to stay dry for the dancing & then everyone enjoyed a bit of a sing along in the pub till late. Here are a few snap shots of the evenings.
